Privacy Policy
Effective September 25, 2026
The short version: Tip'd doesn't collect your data. Your shifts, tips, paychecks and goals stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account. We can't see them, we don't sell them, and there are no ads, analytics or trackers in the app.
What Tip'd stores, and where
Everything you enter lives on your iPhone and in the private part of your iCloud account, so it backs up and shows up on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account:
- Your jobs, positions and hourly pay
- Your shifts: dates, hours, tips, tip-outs, and any sales or notes you add
- Your goals and the money you add to them or take out
- Your paychecks, including any pay stub photos you attach
- A few settings, such as the day your week starts
This data is stored with Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) in your private database. Only you can access it. We, the makers of Tip'd, have no way to read it, and it never passes through a server of ours. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you use Tip'd without iCloud, your data stays only on your iPhone.
What Tip'd doesn't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party code that collects data
- No selling or sharing of your information with anyone
- No location access
Camera and photos
Tip'd asks for the camera, or for a photo from your library, only when you choose to attach a pay stub to a paycheck. The photo is kept with that paycheck in your own iCloud. Tip'd doesn't read the text on it or send it anywhere.
Reminders
If you turn on the reminder to log your shifts, Tip'd schedules notifications on your iPhone. They're created and delivered on your device; nothing about them is sent to us.
Exports
When you export a spreadsheet or a year summary PDF, Tip'd creates the file on your iPhone and hands it to the share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice.
Ratings
Tip'd may occasionally ask if you'd like to rate it on the App Store. That prompt is shown and handled by Apple; Tip'd doesn't learn whether or how you rated it.
Deleting your data
You can delete any shift, paycheck, goal or entry in the app, and it's removed from all your devices. To remove everything, delete Tip'd from your iPhone and remove its data from iCloud in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Storage (the steps vary slightly by iOS version).
Children
Tip'd is meant for adults tracking their own work income. It isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change ever affects how your data is handled, the app will tell you before it takes effect.
